John Sturtevant recently led a full-day onsite workshop for a group of 35 engineers, researchers, and technologists at Qualcomm’s San Diego, California headquarters.

The group represented Qualcomm’s diverse employee population, with people from nearly every continent attending. Participants came from over half a dozen countries, with as many native languages.

The mix of cultural perspective, and breadth of experience levels created a valuable opportunity for discussions on the critical importance of clear communication in such a dynamic work setting

Attendees rated the workshop “very good” to “excellent” on a set of thirteen criteria. Participant comments include:

“John is a great story teller…he kept us engaged the full day.”

“He gave us multiple learning options with ideas we take away and use.”

“Very interactive…the discussions and stories made the concepts real.”

“John gave us specific ways to implement his strategies in our work.”

“The passion of the instructor kept me focused…he clearly enjoys what he does!”

“Great instructor…great examples… not a dull moment all day!”

“He showed us the human side of  writing…I can apply the ideas to my work today.”

Because of the outstanding participant evaluations from this full-day session, Qualcomm has invited The Writing Workshop to present a series of workshops over the next year.
