Rome
Favorite places in Rome.
Capuchin Crypt under the church Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini
It’s at the bottom of Via Veneto at the corner of Piazza Barberini. It's humbling.
That's near Villa Borghese. A beautiful park with gardens and a lake where you can rent a rowboat and paddle (or is it oar) around and see turtles and fish. There are also peddal buggies to rent.
Chiesa Sant'Ignazio
Via del Caravita, 8A 00186 Roma
Near the Pantheon
Walk in, look up. Then walk to the center of the church under the dome and look up again. You'll be quite surprised.
Nerone
Restaurant near the apartment where we lived. Family ownded. We ate here often.
Via delle Terme di Tito, 96 00184 Roma
It’s about two blocks from:
This great historic place:
Has Michelangelo’s statue of Moses
San Pietro in Vincoli
Piazza di San Pietro in Vincoli, 4a, 00184 Roma
Pizza Navona
For years in the 1600s-1800s, they would flood the piazza with water and have mock ship battles.
Great place to hang out and people watch.
Bar in the corner at Campo dei Fiori
Can’t remember the name, but you’ll see it. Always full. Big barrel of peanuts. Good food and fun crowd.
Café Capranica
Capranica Srl
Piazza Capranica, 104, 00186
Owned by friends. Great wine and food. 2 blocks from the Pantheon
Almafi Coast south of Rome
Altrani on the Amalfi Coast. It's a tiny village full of stairs. Wonderful place to just wander. This restaurant is great: http://bit.ly/1RmG1qe
Positano is beautiful. Great restaurants with local fish and veggies. It can be crowded with tourists in the summer.
